We made great use of Nana's pool (I think we only missed 1 day) to help stay cool. Colden is a fish... face in the water (he desperately wanted to blow bubbles like mommy!), floating on his back, being tossed in the air, off the side of the pool and lounging in the lady bug float. He loved every second of it.
We arrived just in time to celebrate Mom's birthday with her... after dinner with all of the local family, the girls headed out for a drink. It turned out to be one the nicest evenings and the restaurant created a 'breeze' on the patio to make it even nicer.

Monday morning was Stroller Fit for Renee and I. Steph kicked our butts (although it took Renee until the next day to agree) with lots of lower body work. It's making me sore thinking about all of the lunges and squats we did!
Then we headed to Dallas, where we got to see Aunt Betty who was just moved from ICU to a regualar hospital room as she is recovering from a stroke. We are so glad that we were able to visit and for Colden to see Aunt Betty and Uncle John again--though we missed our usual visit with the entire extended family.
Uncle John and Granny joined the Martin side of the family for dinner which was fun... but made for a very late night and a longday after driving 4 hours! As you can see, Colden was a good sport!

Colden enjoyed seeing his Aunts and Uncle as well as Gigi and Papa.
We drove to Waco to bring Granny back home and Cole stretched his legs... Granny had lots of stuff that looked like fun to Cole to play with (or eat!). We forgot to get a picture at Granny's house (sad!). While in Waco, we made a quick stop at Baylor for some green and gold for daddy and Cole.
Grams and Grandy also made a visit to the house to see us! Colden was so cute playing with Grandy and it was so nice to see them looking so good!

I am glad you had a good trip - we sure haven't had any of that heat up here in NY- glad you got to visit with so many people.
We really need to try harder to get pictures that we are both in! Thanks for visiting. I noticed you left out the part where Lydia got deathly ill but continued to play with Cole. That was a fun part. LOVE YOU!
Holy Smokes, we nearly fried in Texas!!! I didn't realize how much our bodies had become used to cool CO. 61degrees and breazy here tonight. We will get ours in winter though!!!
Looks like a lot of fun :) What a great trip.
It looks like we are going to have a "Texas" day today in the Pacific Northwest except we will have a lot more humidity. It is supposed to be 105 degrees today in Portland. Yuck :( I hope you stay cool. Good day to stay inside with the AC :)
By the way I don't think Cole takes a bad picture. He is about the most photogenic baby I have ever seen. He is always so cute and happy. He is so adorable!!
