Bounce House

We had a little dinner party with friends on Saturday evening and on Sunday morning the bounce house was still sitting in the backyard deflated... Blakely doesn't say too many words yet, but we stood at the window and said "bounce house" over and over and over... Jeremy caught this little video!

Our Summer Vacation

Summer is the best time to vacation in the Northwest (note to all potential visitors--we have room for you!)... when its nice here, its one of the most beautiful places that I've ever been and we are so blessed to enjoy living here. Usually I say its worth all of the rainy days that we have to endure... we've had few too many of those this spring though!

July is our perfect get away time and keeping with tradition, we packed up Jeremy's truck and set off for a little family vacation. This year we chose Whistler, BC as our destination. With border crossing traffic and stops, it took us 5 hours each way, not bad. We stayed in the Whistler Creekside Village (First Tracks Lodge/Condo) which was as beautiful as the photos online, super spacious and so comfortable with rooms for the kids and a comfortable place for Jeremy and I to hang out in the evenings after they went to bed. They also had a nice heated pool and two big hot tubs which we made use of despite the cooler mountain temperatures.

It's location was literally steps from the gondolas. One was a private gondola for residents of some amazing multi million dollar homes, but the nice Aussie college kids didn't mind giving us unlimited rides - which was Colden's favorite thing to do!

We also enjoyed riding the peak to peak gondolas from Whistler to Blackcomb and back one day. It was chilly up there in the snow! People were even skiing and snowboarding at the very top of the mountain!
The villages each had really nice playgrounds for the kids and conveniently located near the coffee and ice cream shops! We also played a little putt putt in the Upper Villiage one day. And stopped for the obvious photo opp with a Canadian Moose Mounty :)

Summer Visit

Jeremy's parents came up for a July visit and to take care of the boys while we went away for a long weekend. Summer decided to arrive (it since left) just before July 4th, so it was gorgeous for the first few days of Gigi's visit. We'll say it was "hot" (realizing that "hot" is relative!)... hot enough for us to visit the splash park twice!
By the time that Papa arrived and we boarded our flight to LA, the rain returned. The Texans didn't mind the cool rainy weather and I got to enjoy 4 more days of 78* and sunny in Santa Monica.

Besides a little time at the spa and pool and nice evenings out with Jeremy, I also had a nice visit with an old friend... Paul and his wife Michelle. They live in Santa Monica and so it was pretty easy for them to pick me up and take me to dinner while Jeremy had a business dinner one evening. It was fun to catch up again (they came to Seattle in May and we met up then as well) and sharing pictures of our boys and their two new kitties ;)
