And The Quotes Begin

Jeremy sarcastically called me a 'sucker' this afternoon when I gave Colden something that he was begging for... Colden then turned around and in a similar tone said "suck-errr" to daddy.

Football

Even though football season is over (at least for us Cowboys fans), we still get little reminders from Colden. This week, driving in the car, we pull up to a stop light behind a silver SUV with a small (no bigger than 4" diameter) Seahawks football helmet next to the license plate...

Colden: "Football!"
Mommy: "Where? I don't see a football."
Colden: (pointing forward at the truck) "Truck... football"
Mommy: "Wow, you've got good eyes Cole... I see the football helmet on the truck"
Colden: "Cowboys!"
Mommy: (chuckles) "Go Cowboys!"
Colden: "Romo"

Why I haven't blogged...

My pace of blogging slowed quite a bit this fall/winter due to another project that I've been keeping busy with. This was Jeremy's birthday gift... a little late! Its a celtic style scarf that took much longer than I thought it would as the cabling required a lot of concentration to make sure I didn't mess it up. Here is a close-up...
So, I'll try to do better, but I'm on to some more knitting and crocheting projects now ;) I can't help it... it's such a good time of year to enjoy my hobbies. Besides, I don't think I'll have any time for them come April!

SOOO Big!

That's how big Colden is!
Our little cutie is growing up so fast. Upon return home from Dallas, we've been busy practicing our ABC's and learning many new words. As of January 8th, he can both identify and say all of his letters. There are of course a few very cute anomalies... 'W' is most often "double d", 'X' is pronounced "eck" (just missing the 's' sound at the end) and as with many 5 year olds, 'G' and 'J' is sometimes confused. Otherwise, I can quiz him on any letter and he's got it down. Now we are working on the ABC song which is hands-down the most requested song in our house!
I'm pretty sure the 'Cowboys' will be the first word that he fully spells since it is written on several of daddy's shirts and he loves to spell all of the letters for us! He was also quite a good fan on Saturday night for the big Dallas Cowboys game... he loves "foofall" (not a misspelling... just typing it as he says it) and saying "Go Cowboys"!
One other favorite of ours is that he has learned to say "I love you" or often "love you". He even offers it up spontaneously to Jeremy and I sometimes. It sure makes it hard to imagine loving another little boy this much!
