Martin Family Thanksgiving

We were so blessed to have the whole Martin family together for the first time to celebrate Thanksgiving... and even more special that they all flew up from Texas to be here with Jeremy, Cole and I. We had a 1 o'clock lunch with a big Turkey, the traditional sides and even a new broccoli gratin casserole that will probably reappear at another family meal. The homemade blackberry jam was much appreciated on the yeast rolls!

After lunch, the Cowboys kicked some Seahawk bootie and then we dressed warm for a family walk. The Seattle rain (mist) scared off a few girls, but not Cole!

Then we enjoyed some appetizers and pie (with crust) to reenergize before the evening entertainment... We played Lips, a new Xbox game (like Guitar Hero, but singing), with Jennifer and Jamie starting out the evening with a special duet of "My Lip Gloss"... Jennifer was poppin'! Here's a glimpse of the fun with Chris and Jamie breakin' it down!

New Thanksgiving Tradition

We started a pre-Thanksgiving tradition at the Martin's this year... rather than waiting until after the big meal on Thursday for dessert, I made a special pecan pie for Jeremy to be eaten the day before...

If you look at this picture and are not quite sure what's different, don't feel bad, it took me a little while to figure it out too. The pie pan has such a pretty wavy 'crust-like' design that you hardly notice the missing crust!

Yummy Thumb

Cole has been sucking on his fingers and whole fist whenever possible for the last few weeks... this weekend he finally learned how to get his thumb in there and daddy is even teaching him how to rest his pointer finger over his nose when he sucks.

Play Date

Among the many things we have on our schedule, one of them is a weekly play date with Cole's friend, Elijah. This week, EJ came to our house and played with Cole on the Baby Einstien playmat. It was a huge hit!

Amy and I had fun watching the boys talk and laugh at that silly singing star. A few times, the excitement got the best of them and one whacked the other, but no one got hurt ;)

Here Comes Trouble!

It took about a million tries, but I caught the cutest smile on camera... finally!

Meatballs

Making meatballs on Sunday was just an excuse to get together with Amy & Matt before so much time passed that Colden forgot who they were ;)

I have to admit that I was a little disappointed that Matt only ate about 2/3 of a pound of meatballs... next time he should come a little more hungry!

Aunt Christina Visits

We didn't take any pictures all weekend... I don't know what we were thinking! Christina (my big sis who lives in NY) came out to Seattle this weekend for a medical conference. She was able to break away in the afternoons to hang out with us. Colden showed her around our favorite shopping spots and was quite a good boy despite his lack of naps!

Thanks for the adorable truck outfit for this winter. Cole will look so cute in it and it will be fun to see Matt and Josh in matching shirts!

Cole's Smile

I've been trying to capture Cole with a big smile on his face for weeks now, but somehow he always get serious when the camera comes out or I only catch the tail-end of it. We were having such fun this morning, so I captured his smile on video.

Two Months

I can hardly believe that two months has passed since Colden arrived. He has been such a joy to Jeremy and I... we are incredibly blessed. I couldn't be happier spending my days at home with him and enjoying every moment while he is awake, smiling, playing, eating, falling asleep in my arms, and the list goes on. Now that he is a little more active, I really appreciate the time that I cuddle him and listen to his precious coo's.

Cole's latest stats:
13 lbs 14 oz
24 inches long
