Lydia and Renee's Visit

Last week, Renee and Lydia escaped the post-hurricane power outages in Houston and came to visit Cole, Nana and I. We had a lot of fun and Renee put together some great pictures from their visit! Check out The Westcott Family blog to see all the fun!

Turtle Baby

For the past week, Colden has been enjoying morning play time in his crib watching his turtle mobile... thought all of you Cole fans would enjoy seeing his beautiful blue eyes!

P.S. Cousin Josh lovingly nicknamed Cole the 'Turtle Baby' before he was born and his name was announced.

A long way from home

For the last week or so, I have been on a business trip missing Cole and Amy like crazy. The first leg was to Malaysia. Our meetings in Kuala Lumpur have been at the MS offices in the Patronas towers pictured here. The towers were the tallest buildings in the world for a while and still remain the tallest twin towers on the planet.

After leaving KL, my travels took me to Austria. The leadership team was able to break away from the conference rooms for a while and see the Lipizzaners perform yesterday at their home stadium here in Vienna.

I am counting the hours until I return home to the family. I hear that Cole has been growing nonstop...word is he has already begun dating. While I am proud of the accomplishment, I am sad to have missed it. See you and your beautiful mommy soon!!

Colden Turns Two

Two weeks old, that is! Cole weighed in at 9 pounds and 5 ounces today at our appointment. He is happy drinking mom's milk and close to having a double chin. Its amazing how much he has changed already in such a short amount of time!
Today he tested out his bouncy seat for the first time... Thanks Aunt Julie and Uncle Dave!

We're Back

Sorry that its been so long since we've blogged. Jeremy did such a great job keeping you updated on the first week of Cole's life and then he had to go back to work. Its amazing how the days fly by and I seem to accomplish very little besides feeding, changing, showering, eating and napping! So here's a recap on the last week...

The Martin's, Gigi and Papa, visited... this is their first grandchild! This picture of the 3 generations is one of my favorites!

No, Jeremy doesn't wear his Cowboys jersy all the time... it was game day!
We also had our first Doctor's appointments this week. Cole is in the 95 percentile for his length/height, which makes dad happy. The Matheson genes get all of the credit! Other than that, our Doctor reports a perfect baby... and his only patient named Colden!
Nana (Amy's Mom) arrived from Texas in time to avoid Hurricane Ike and enjoy perfect end-of-summer Northwest weather. She has been busy cooking and cleaning so that Cole and I can get naps each day. She has also been picking the wild blackberries which will soon be pies and jam.
The sad part of the week was saying goodbye to Jeremy as he headed off to Malaysia for the week and will head to Austria next.

Cole and I are very thankful for Nana to keep us company and make sure that we get out and have some
fun. Cole had his first trip to the Saturday market and his first of many shopping days at Bellevue Square. We loved having such a fashionable 'Hooter Hider' in the Nordstrom dressing room (thanks Aunt Renee!).

How 'bout them Cowboys

Today was a very special day for Cole and Daddy...Dallas Cowboys regular season opener. Cole could not wait to put on his new jersey (albeit a little large) from Gigi that Aunt Jennifer found...thanks guys! In keeping with tradition, we put together a little video, and Dad took the opportunity to address Cole's future employers.

Where did all the pics go?

For those who have been thinking "we love the videos, but where are all the pictures and slideshows?", no worries...we have been loading the pictures each day as well. Click below for the album links and see all the fun we have been having: http://picasaweb.google.com/Amy.Martin101

The Moose is Loose

Day 5 was an action pack day for Cole, A & J. After a relaxing morning at home, we all got cleaned up for our field trip to Panera for lunch and Target to pick up a few things. Colden was a perfect town-hopping companion. Following afternoon naps, Cole met Mortimer the Moose for a play date. If you thought Freddie gets all the love...watch out...the Moose is Loose.

Freddie finds a friend

Colden had his first play date with Freddie the Firefly this morning. As you can see from the video, he was quite intregued. It was so fun to watch his beautiful blue eyes respond to our voices and other play things.

Cole makes it home

Yesterday was quite a busy day getting checked out of the hospital and settled in at home. Amy and Cole have been doing so good!! Here are the latest round of pics...should have another video up later, working on the dance routine now.
