NFL Draft Day

This weekend was the NFL Draft... apparently such a big deal that we went to two parties to celebrate! Cole dressed for the occasion and Lynda caught some cute pictures of he and his buddy EJ!

Basic Training

We put Cole through basic training so he could learn key survival techniques and life skills such as the 'army crawl'. You never know when you might need to maneuver under a barbed wire fence!

It's pretty amazing how he gets faster each day! Our baby proofing has just stepped up a notch!

Cole's First Cookie

Cole enjoyed his first teething biscuit earlier this week... he devoured it! It was great entertainment for Cole and Allie who sat by and watched.

This is officially the messiest that he has ever been. Though judging by what I've seen Josh and Matt do, we have a lot more mess ahead of us!

Baby Why Don't We Go Down to Kokomo...

That's Kokomo, Indiana... not really a destination on our trip to the Midwest last weekend, but we were not far from my birthplace during Cole's inaugural trip to Indiana. The purpose of our visit was to attend my cousin's wedding in West Lafayette. Drew (who designs the women's graphic tees for American Eagle) married Betsy on Saturday night. They had a lovely wedding and her dad gave an especially sweet toast. It was so fun to attend the wedding and see family as well as family friends that I grew up with. Cole got to meet his Great Grandma and Grandpa DeSutter along with many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Sunday morning was spent at brunch and catching up with the DeSutter family back at Grandma & Grandpa's house.

Sunday afternoon, we headed to Northern Indiana to visit with my mom's parents. Grandma Cripe was crazy about Cole, as expected! She is also crazy about Jeremy ;) Who wouldn't be? Grandpa surprised me though... he was very fond of Cole and enjoyed having him sitting on his lap. Cole just loved Grandpa's deep voice.

Apparently Grandma 'made' Grandpa wear his Chicago Bears hat because Jeremy is a Cowboy's fan... keep in mind tha Grandma is barely 4'11" and Grandpa is 6'1" and a lot meaner ;)

It was a wonderful whirlwind tour of Indiana and worth every bit of sleep lost traveling! We love you all!

Hello!

I really don't have a good subject to blog about, but thought it was time to say hello! Here is a picture of Cole's cute smile from earlier this evening when we were out for a walk. It is finally Spring here!

Happy Easter

We're a little behind the curve on this one... but wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter anyway! I remembered to bring the camera with us yesterday morning, but never remembered to pull it out for a picture. oh well! Cole was cute is his yellow and white striped scooter shirt... he couldn't wear the whole scooter ensemble though becasue it wasn't warm enough.

It was a typical rainy Seattle Easter, but that didn't stop us! We attended Mass at St. James Cathedral followed by brunch with our good friends, the Cantando's. Cole was a perfect baby... slept through most of the service and played and flirted with the girls serving our brunch!

7 Months

I continue to be in awe of how quickly the months pass. I'm so blessed to be home with Colden so I don't miss any of it! There is no scheduled doctor's visit this month to check his weight and height, but he continues to grow big and strong. He is moving all over the place, but not quite up on his hands and knees yet. He loves to jump in his exersaucer and play 'plop' on pillows with Jeremy and I.

Allie, our cat, always brings a smile to his face. Surprisingly, she is quite sweet with him, letting him "pet" her. Petting her generally means grabbing her ears! She also plays a little game with him around the kitchen and he follows her in his walker.

This past month has been especially fun with lots of new things... eating, playing, sleeping. After his last cold, it took us a little while to get back to our good sleep schedule, but he is sleeping 11-12 hour each night with no feedings now and take two good naps every day.

He has really started talking a lot more as well. He definitely has his 'd' as in da da sound down... loves when I say "la, la, la" (watching my tongue intently) and also can make the 'm' sound, but usually reserves it for when he is hungry... coincidence?

He gets the best baby award just about everywhere we go... to clarify, other people say this (we just happen to agree) on airplanes and in restaurants, etc. He is just so sweet and smiley!
