Playing at the Park

Colden had his first taste of playing at that park... something that we will be doing a lot more of as the weather turns warmer! The slide didn't impress him too much, but he loved the swing!

Our Week in Review

We had a full week of fun that I wanted to report on.
Cole started drinking from his sippy cup... he loves it. Of course, it is a toy in addition to a beverage.

We also had 2 play dates with Grace this week... they are so cute together! I just love how she giggles at Cole. It's especially funny when Cole chases her in his walker!

My cousin, Serg, and his wife, Tashia, came to say hello and met Colden for the first time. This picture isn't very clear, but at least we took one! We had such a nice visit! Sorry it was so short!

Caught

I'm sure this is title you'll see more than once on our blog ;)
Every morning, I leave Cole to play by himself for about an hour while I catch up on email, eat breakfast, etc. He just plays away... never straying too far from his toys. I peek in on him and gauge his happiness by his chatter.

This morning, he seemed especially quiet, so I peeked in and found this!
I knew that he had figured out how to open the cabinet door, but hadn't thought much of it til now ;)

Another First...

Its always fun to blog about Cole's firsts and today I was going to write about his first tooth (a little behind schedule). Instead, I'll write about his first teeth!

I felt the first tooth coming in February, and on March 6th, I felt the sharp little thing poking through his gums. This week, we finally got some pictures of it to share with you all.
As I was drafting the start of this blog, I was interrupted by some play time with Cole and that is when I noticed a second tooth in his big smile! So... he is officially working on his two bottom front teeth!

Aunt Stephanie's Visit

My younger sister Stephanie came up to visit us in Seattle this past week. She was the 'nanny' for the week. I specified that she is my younger sis because we had a few funny incidences where others thought she was the older sis. In the case of the random guy at Starbucks, she should clearly be settled down with children by now.

Cole was such a good little baby for her... she nicknamed him the 'angel baby'. She also made up a little jig with his name and he giggled everytime she sang it to him. I tested it out after she left and it still got a giggle.

We introduced Cole to the shopping cart--thanks to the cute cart cover that Jen gave us. I wouldn't have put him in otherwise. He loved it. He also used the cover to sit in the high chair at our favorite pizza place for the first time. He ate his dinner like such a big boy.

Thanks for coming Annie... we love you and will always remember this fun time with you. Oh, and special thanks to Jon Jon for being a bachelor for the week. We better see you next time!

Our Week

This last week was busy as we adjusted back to pacific time and got well (Cole picked a bad cold while traveling). We had our 6 month doctor's visit where Cole maintained his 95th percentile height and weight statistics. Jeremy was able to come to the appointment too, which was nice!

Cole still loves his walker. It definitely enables him to find trouble a lot easier! Look what we caught him chewing on!
We also had a bath 'incident'... needless to say, I needed to get Cole out of the bath and into a place that I could rinse him off! The sink worked as a great little bath tub!

Our Spring Visit to Texas

Cole and I made a trip to visit the sun in Houston and escape the snow in Seattle. Our travel was originally planned around Jeremy's trip to Park City to ski with the Westcott boys. Unfortunately, he had to stay in Seattle for work :(
Cole did great traveling again... he is becoming a pro. Here are some pictures from our trip:
Cole with Paca... the scooter outfit is just adorable. Thank you for the teething beads too!

Emily is such a great helper! Cole loved her!

We had lunch with Stacey and Kym... mmm... Papsitos!

Aunt Steph and Uncle Jon had dinner with us... a night that Jon will never forget (peas!)

My cousin Jen was so sweet to come out to Renee's to see us! (Jen, Sawyer, Campell, Amy & Cole)

this time with Lydia...

then we fall apart ;)

One of my favorite 'Houston' events is the Livestock Show and Rodeo... we had a great time and Dad spoiled us! For those of you reading our blog from Houston... go get the battered shrimp and onion skewers from the New Orleans stand next to Goode BBQ... the shrimp and the BBQ next door were both excellent!
This was the first time that I've ever visited the petting areas! I didn't let Cole touch, but he watched the goats, sheep and pigs and was reaching for them.

Another first was Pig Racing... pretty funny!

We had a wonderful stay and loved the warm breezy weather (actually hot at a few times), but it was too short!

Cousins

Cole has been having so much fun playing with his cousin Lydia this week... this is a picture of them watching Baby Einstein (Cole's first experience watching tv).Renee and I thought that Lydia would be really excited to see Cole, but she was kinda indifferent this time. Cole, on the other hand, picked up a few moves from his friend Grace (his valentine) and went after Lydia for kisses!

6 Months Already?

Cole officially crossed the 6 month mark yesterday. It is absolutely amazing how much he has changed in the last 6 months and how fast it has gone for Amy and I. We will find out specific stats in our next checkup, but he is definately over 20 pounds. Already the cutest and smartest kid in the class...no offense EJ! Talking up a storm now, which is the funnest thing to listen to.

Here is Cole's 6 month picture taken by our very talented friend, Lynda.

Now for some favorites:
Favorite song: I've been working on the railroad (with an extra chugga-chugga thrown in there)
Favorite toy: The walker and anything that he can put in his mouth
Favorite person: Definately Mommy!
Favorite aunt: should probably not even go there...
